The Ranchos Trading Post was run by the Sahd family before the great depression, and was active through 1981 when George Sahd retired. It was a true community center and the largest general store in the Taos area. The Trading Post consisted of a soda/lunch fountain, a clothing and drug store, a canned and fresh foods area, a butcher shop, building supplies and a liquor store. During the depression, World War I trucks went out to deliver goods to the elderly in the community. Every local resident over the age of 25 fondly remembers coming to this active spot as a child.

To continue future life for this historic place, we have recreated a portion of the Ranchos Trading Post, "The Trading Post Café." And we strive to once again become a true "community center." We are here to trade "good food" in exchange for a "good time" (and of course a small compensation!)

Join us today and experience a little history with warm friendship and tastefully prepared food!
