Tim's Stray Dog
Cantina has been serving delicious Northern New Mexican food and
drinks. We are especially famous for our red & green
chile (100% flame roasted), chile rellenos, great burgers, and
breakfast burritos. Our bar offers a wide selection of bottled
beers, locally brewed draft beer, as well as a full bar - home
of our renowned Margaritas.
Tim's Stray Dog Cantina, located at the base of the Taos Ski Valley, was first opened in 1989 by Tim and Laurie Harter. Tim and Laurie had both been working in Taos Ski Valley at the Hotel St. Bernard for many years. When Tim and Laurie 'strayed" from the St. Bernard (aka - the Big Dog, by the locals) they decided to call their new place Tim's Stray Dog Cantina.
The Stray Dog quickly became a favorite eating and watering hole for locals and the tourists soon followed.
Tim's Stray Dog Cantina has built a solid reputation around their great food, fun atmosphere, and deliciously strong margaritas.
Recently Todd Harter (Tim's brother), and his partner Summer Stanford have acquired the Stray Dog and they are both committed to maintaining and building on Tim's reputation as 'the" place to eat and drink in Taos Ski Valley.
